The Study has a proud tradition of providing the finest education for girls from Kindergarten to Grade 11. Our objective is to nurture the intellectual, emotional, moral and social growth of every Study girl and we are committed to supporting our students, parents, staff and community.
Throughout
its history, The Study has been guided by the legacy of its founder Margaret Gascoigne, who believed that girls should be taught “things that really matter”. Although standards and criteria for education have changed significantly since The Study was founded in 1 915, the school continues to foster excellence and leadership in young women and to fulfill its mission: The Study provides the means for girls to develop fine scholarship, a love of learning, clarity of thought and expression, and leadership qualities in an environment which appreciates diversity and values the importance of the individual and the community.
As we prepare our students for their role as women in the 21st century, we continue to be guided by our mission and to encourage students to develop competence, confidence and the courage to shape their world. The Senior School curriculum described on the following pages is the blueprint for achieving these ideals.
Kindergarten students have regular classes with a technology specialist in the Multi- Media Lab. Using various tools, including MicroWorlds Project Builder and other software applications, they are introduced to the computer through age-appropriate projects that are linked to their classroom work. Computers are also available to the students in their classroom.
