Timetables & Routines

Arrival and Dismissal

Students are expected to be in school each day from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  Please book your daughter’s appointments outside of school hours or on holidays.  If your daughter requires an early dismissal, please write a note to the Senior School Director and have your daughter bring it to her before first period in the morning. No student may leave the school without the consent of her parents AND the administration of the school.

All students must sign out at the front office if they have an early dismissal for an appointment, or if they are attending an athletic event. Students are dismissed at 3:30 p.m. and should leave the school by 3:45 p.m.   If a student not involved in an extra-curricular activity wishes to stay later, she must ask permission and advise the front office. The library is available for quiet work after school until 5:00 p.m. only.

Late Arrivals

The student entrances are locked at 8:05 a.m. for the remainder of the day. Students must check in with the Receptionist if they arrive at school after attendance has been taken. Students who do not have a note to excuse the late, will serve a detention after three unexcused lates.

Attendance

Attendance each day is compulsory. Students should only stay home if they are sick. Please schedule appointments outside of school hours.

Absences

When a student is absent because of illness, the school must be notified by telephone before 9:00 a.m. on the day of the absence, and on return, the student must bring a note addressed to the Homeroom Teacher. If an absence for any other reason is necessary, the Senior School Director should be consulted and advised in writing beforehand. It must be stressed that an absence from class should be avoided whenever possible. An excuse makes an absence acceptable, but cannot possibly make up for loss of time and continuity in the subjects missed. To this end, please do not book holidays during school times.  Should you do so, it is the responsibility of the student to make up the work missed and it is the parents’ responsibility to ensure the work is done.  Teachers will not reteach her/his lesson after a student absence for a personal holiday.

Detentions

Detentions will be given for unexcused lates,  infractions of school rules and regulations and other misdemeanors.  All detentions will be served on Friday afternoons from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. and will take precedence over all other activities.
