Study team wins silver medal at CRC Robotics challenge 2010!
Grade 10 and 11 students competed in the CRC Robotics challenge on February 18-20 2010, at St. Maxime High School in Laval. The weekend was packed with practice rounds, team certification, and competitions from 9am until 9pm each day. The Study won second place out of 21 competing high schools, CEGEPs and technical colleges in the Kiosk category! The Kiosk is the repair pit for robots and was judged based on effectiveness, organization and aesthetics (see photo).
Kelly Miller, Senior School Science teacher and Robotics coach explained how Study students showed determination and enthusiasm all weekend, not only in competition, but in collaboration. “St. George's and Sacred Heart also competed and consequently there was a huge amount of collaboration between schools to share what they knew about the circuitry solutions.”
Thank you to Ms. Miller, Mr. Roussos, and a special thanks to all parent volunteers who offered their time, support and expertise all weekend long!
Congratulations to all our Study robotics students!
