Exceptional mother tongue bilingual programme

The Study’s unique mother tongue bilingual programme begins in Kindergarten, and students learn to master literacy and numeracy skills in English and French, thanks to dedicated homeroom teachers. Watch here as French teacher Mme Rodier (Grade 1) presents The Study's Cycle One French programme during our recorded info session.

In Elementary School, students have two homeroom teachers and spend approximately half of their time at school in English and the other half in French. In Grades 1 and 2, students consolidate foundations for literacy in French and in English - learning situations are process-oriented with the intention of encouraging the girls to explore, experiment, solve problems and absorb new concepts. Classes focus on reading, writing and communication skills, with an emphasis on play and active participation.

Mm. Rodier emphasizes the importance of fostering a caring, nurturing, and warm environment where students can feel safe and comfortable expressing themselves in French, and are not afraid to take risks and explore new things. She explains that The Study's French programme aims to instill confidence in students at each stage of the learning process, allowing them to become autonomous and motivated learners.
