As we near the Holiday season, and continue to re-invent our fundraising initiatives in an ever-changing context, the spirit of giving remains steadfast at The Study. On November 19th, the Study community gathered virtually to raise funds for the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation’s fundraising initiative "Stronger Together, The Children's United Against the Pandemic," with our "Stronger Than Ever" Bazaar.
Study Board Chair Erika Flores Ludwick '88 joined us to speak about the importance and history of the school Bazaar. First created as a fundraiser to support families of soldiers during the Second World War, the annual Study Bazaar has grown to become one of our most cherished events of the year, allowing the entire school community to come together to raise funds for an important cause. Erika Flores Ludwick shared personal memories of the annual Study Bazaars throughout her time as a Study girl, and highlighted the values promoted by the Bazaar: a strong work ethic, selflessness and generosity.
In another effort to support an important cause during the Holiday season,The Study community is perpetuating the tradition of supporting families in need through Saint Gabriel's Parish. In the past, Study families donated holiday baskets filled with gifts and non-perishable goods. This year, we made an impact by donating money to Saint Gabriel's Parish, and grocery store gift cards will be given to the families we usually support. Although it was a little different this year, the initiative was a success, and we raised over $9,500.
Thank you all for your generosity. Joyeuses Fêtes!
