Welcoming New Faculty & Staff

As the school year kicks off, we have the pleasure of welcoming several new faculty and staff members to The Study! 

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Kim Turcot DiFruscia as our interim Senior School Director for the 2021-2022 school year. Ms. Turcot DiFruscia joins us from Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf where she held the position of Directrice adjointe des services pédagogiques. She has also held various teaching positions at the Elementary, Senior School and University level, including enseignante de français here at The Study from 2016-2020. 

She is very excited to be back at The Study and to have the opportunity to play a substantive leadership role by providing excellent learning experiences for all students.

 

Tracy Grosvenor

Ms. Grosvenor will be our Elementary School Art Teacher for the year. She received both her MA in Art Education and her BFA in Studio Art from Concordia University. She has taught and worked as an art educator in the Westmount neighbourhood for over 15 years. Ms. Grosvenor is strongly committed to art and education and believes we can all become artists once we tap into our own personal inspiration. 

 

Andrea McIntyre

Ms. McIntyre will be our Elementary School Francisation Teacher. She has an MA in Child Study and Education from the University of Toronto and has taught French immersion in public and private schools across Montreal and Toronto. Ms. McIntyre brings warmth and enthusiasm to her new role and enjoys building partnerships with her students and their families. 

 

Lesley Rosen

Ms. Rosen will be replacing Lisa Lorenzetti for the year as our Grade 5 English Homeroom Teacher. She received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Prince Edward Island and her BA from Concordia University and the University of Copenhagen. She also taught English in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Her creative teaching techniques naturally bring students together through various forms of group work. 

 

Brandon Romano

Mr. Romano will be replacing Susie Levesque for the year as our Elementary School Physical Education Teacher. He received his Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning from McGill University and has taught and coached in public and private schools in Montreal, Toronto, and London, England. His students easily connect with his positive, energetic demeanor and he enjoys watching their confidence and self-esteem grow as they all become athletes. 

 

Charlène Leblanc 

Mme. Leblanc will be our Grade 3 French Homeroom Teacher for the year. She received her teaching degree from the Université de Sherbrooke and has a Master’s degree in sustainable development and management from HEC Montréal. She also teaches administrative affairs at the Cegep-level and is a conference speaker on sustainable development. 

 

Rand Allabade

Ms. Allabade will be joining The Study as a Senior School Science Teacher. She received a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning from McGill University. As well she has a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Research in the Division of Experimental Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Cell Biology from McGill University. She began teaching in 2007 and enjoys the hands-on approach of science and how it can be infused into our everyday lives. 

 

Welcome Back

We are also pleased to announce the return of Ms. Chantale Lewis, Director of Athletics, Mme Karine Lemay, Senior School History Teacher, and Ms. Lisa Jacobsen, Elementary and Senior School Technology Teacher. We are very excited to have them all back from maternity leaves. 

 

And lastly, you will also notice a new face at Reception: Ms. Jordan Oertle will be replacing Ms. Ellen Yambouranis while she is away on maternity leave.
