Technology & Makerspace

The Study is proud of its many years of innovative use of technology to enhance learning and critical thinking, both inside and outside the classroom. Technology is woven through the curriculum at all grade levels and taught by a dedicated team of tech specialists.

Coding and electronics are part of The Study’s Technology curriculum, at all grade levels. Every student in Grades 6 to 11 is provided with a Mac laptop computer, and every student in Kindergarten to Grade 5 has an iPad. Laptops and iPads are included in the school fees, there are no additional fees for these devices.

Students have access to the latest software, an Innovation lab and the Makerspace which includes a robotics lab and a builder's room, various audio visual equipment, a wide screen printer, a photography studio, several 3D printers, a laser cutter, a CNC mill, a vinyl cutter, a mould maker, various saws, drill presses, a video IP conferencing unit and state-of-the-art technology in the classroom.

The Study is leading the way by establishing a Global Consortium with schools from around the world on the theme of artificial intelligence. The consortium will have three parts to it: a think tank for teachers, events for students, as well as a community service component.
