ABOUT US:
Jardins Braeside Trente-Six is an eco-responsible business run by Grade 3 and 4 students at The Study. Jardins Braeside comes from the name of the street on which the elementary school is located, and Trente-Six is the number of the classroom where it all began! It was important for us to include the room number, as this is where the gardens came to life!
The company currently produces a vibrant garden pesto using Nutritower hydroponic towers installed in the classroom and fresh, organic ingredients. All students in the class participate in the company's production activities on a daily basis, and through these efforts they develop important skills such as cooperation, critical thinking, time management, problem solving and much more. Jardins Braeside offers an ideal environment to help students structure their identity and develop effective working methods, while prioritizing social responsibility, an important pillar of sustainable development.
ASSIGNMENT:
At Jardin Braeside Trente-Six, we believe that every little gesture helps build a better future. That's why we strive every day not only to cultivate flourishing gardens, but also to promote eco-responsible values. We firmly believe in giving back to the community. That's why our profits are donated to causes close to our hearts. On the one hand, we support an organization working to empower women, and on the other, we contribute to access to quality education at The Study through the school's financial assistance and bursary program.
Thanks to our hydroponic towers, we produce delicious pesto from simple, fresh ingredients grown ecologically in our classroom. Through our actions and decisions, we aim to inspire present and future generations to adopt a lifestyle that respects the planet and its resources. At Jardins Braeside Trente-Six, we're determined to make a positive impact, one harvest at a time.
OBJECTIVE:
We would like to raise $6,000 to support our operations by buying a more efficient hydroponic system. We would also love to support Chez Doris, a women's empowerment organization, because we believe supporting women is important, especially when they're going through difficult times. We know we can bring them help and hope. At last, we want to contribute to the girls in our own community, here at the school, by providing financial support to the Financial Assistance and Bursary program. We can make a positive impact by providing access to a quality education at The Study for all students. The world needs great women!
